    License or LIE-sense???

I was chatting with an old mate of mine at the pub last night, he mentions he bought a new Harley then asks me “have you got a bike yet”

I pondered on that question after answering regretfully “no”.

I was met with a tirade of questions “why not!?”, “what’s wrong with ya!?” etc etc.

    It got me thinking...

I don’t have a bike because I am on my restricted license.
And quite frankly you wouldn’t catch me dead on another 250cc or LAMS.
    I need 1,000cc plus.

But that would count me out of getting my full license (because I don’t have said bike).

...What are the actual chances of me getting caught on a big bike? = very minimal I reckon.
Because quite frankly the current law system just doesn’t sit well with me.

This has left me thinking - jump straight to a big bike or keep my head down and tow the line??

Miss that feeling of riding a big bike and feeling/hearing that power.
    Does that make a criminal??
    I don’t think so.

I'd love to see you on a "big bike", so I could overtake you on a LAMS and make you look like a wanker.

Yeah I must say I am surprised, so many kiwis are stoners I thought it would sail through. Guess they're happy with a $20 tinny or some cinnys when the dealer is out

I’d leave your little cereal box Honda 400cc in the dust.

I'm pretty disappointed with that result but not too surprised. I've had plenty of conversations with people who are happily quaffing wine and beer then jumping into the car to drive home - "just round the corner" - who have regaled me with the evils of weed.

Shallow hypocrites. Most fit a certain profile or get their news from Faceplace, ok, usually both.

Some pretty good reasons for preventing squids jumping onto a 200hp bike.

I've been riding since steam was invented and I would not go near a sprot bike over 750cc, even on track. Especially on track to be fair.

I get the more power buzz, but you can't get anywhere near accessing it on the road without being a fuck knuckle. They are an exercise in frustration most of the time.

    Just my take on it.

You can make him look like a wanker without even getting on a bike

So we have Dean confirming he can't commit. Can't have the house he wants in Dorkland - so won't buy at all.
Can't have the bike he wants - so won't have one at all.
    Millennials eh....

Anyway, we have an infestation of millennials here. Bastards have upset my nice quiet arrangements locally.
One pair are running around the village on unregistered, loud dirtbikes - often helmetless too.
Another pair are annoying the shit out of everyone with a Harley and a Victory - with I think straight pipes.

Locals are forming a lynching committee - and have the cops watching too. Names are known to the cops too.
    Just a matter of time.

But my testing arrangements - acceptable to the locals as I go out of the village - are just as illegal.
So while the locals assure me they don't want to see me caught, it's just as likely. So the fun has stopped for the meantime.
And I've got two bikes to sort. No hurry luckily.

And an old mate who lives down the road a ways tells me that the area is under observation due to the recent arrival of a couple of gang houses - in the middle of nowhere too.

    Bastards. Fuck off.

It does seem Grasshopper that you have much to learn.

Most riders get fastest laptimes on 600 or 750 machines, just saying.

I don't think so either - there are other words more fitting...
