How can I put on weight?

Well, Over the last few weeks I've dropped off a few more kg's.

And I was wondering if anyone had any tips to putting on weight. Like what foods are fatty but not totally unhealthy.

The most I've ever weighed is 48kg's and now I'm down to a pityful 41kg's which is the lowest I've been in about 6 years...

I'm much like my father in the sense that we're both skinny critters, and I've always had a problem putting on weight and then keeping it on...

    Any tips or suggestions?

    How tall are you?

    Do you stress easily?

    Do you smoke?

There are a lot of factors to it, potentially; if this is something you've been having difficulty with for a while, it might be worth getting proper medical advice. It sounds as if you are one of Nature's natural skinnies (low appetite) but you may want to rule out the possibility that (for example) you are not getting all the nutrients from what food you do eat. (Eg, if someone had IBS and tried to eat heaps of bread to put on weight, they'd probably get quite sick!)
It might be worth trying to up your intake of proteins, perhaps having a bag of nuts for browsing throughout the day, and adding natural yoghurt into your meals.

Obviously you want to avoid unneccesary expense, but a good iridologist can be excellent at giving you an overall picture of what is happening with your health; hereditary factors and/or other potential factors. They usually give sound nutritional advice based upon their findings, and upon your own specific needs. I'm not being a yoghurt-weaving hippy, here- I had a very real medical condition discovered by an iridologist a few years back.

    Anyway, good luck!

ok... being a big fat Yank.. i can say that i think i have a handle on this...

    Donuts and beer

seriously though.. tons of Carbo (Breads, Pasta, Potatoes, etc) back that up with a good dose of Protien from red meat.

i used to play Gridiron and wrestle.. during the football season.. i would pack on the carbo and avoid it during the wrestling season.. went from 270 pounds in one part of the year to 240 in the other ( not fat either.. i was in the gym 3 days a week and running 5 miles a day)

for those of you who are metric-centric...
    ( 270 pounds = 123 kg.. 240 = 108 kg [what i weigh now]) 5 miles = 8 km

Skinny makes your bike faster. That's why mine is so slow.
Pregnancy will give you some weight gain.
Pigging out on MacDonalds will work. (If you don't need your liver)

If I were you I would be talking to my GP in the first instance. They will probably do some blood tests to make sure there isn't a medical cause for your weight loss. If it is your diet that's at fault then I would recommend seeing a dietitian to work out the most appropriate foods for you to eat to gain weight and be healthy. It might also be worthwhile having allergy tests. I used to have a bit of trouble with my weight (I was a bit heftier then) - had allergy tests done and discovered that I have an allergy to wheat. When I cut down my bread intake the weight fell off me.

If all that fails then become a supermodel!!

Okay, it does sound like you need to put on a bit of weight! I'd consider taking some calcium and zinc and stuff- you don't want your bones getting weak, which can happen if your body starts 'stripping' them for nutrients it's missing. Osteoporosis when you are old is no fun at all.

Iridology is a technique where the practitioner takes an extreme close up photo of your eye, noting the texture of the iris, patterns and mapping it. There may be breaks or holes which could indicate weaknesses, for example. It is considered contraversial by some conventional doctors, but the one I saw was a fully qualified Russian doctor, where they use it as part of their diagnostic kit. As I say, in my experience, it is highly effective- and I got a diagnosis for something that conventional medicine had been unable to find at all.

Um. Costs- I don't actually know what they would be in New Zealand. Have a look in the Yellow Pages..?

Taro - high in carbs and protien and energy dense. And without artery-clogging fat.
Experience......something you get just after you needed it
