So since this post first started has there been a change? An update please PF.
Are ya a fat barstard now?
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

Ok an update... well... still skinny, been averaging 44kg's for the last 4 or so months... really nagging my goat (no comments). I'm on Horleys Max Gain shakes, having two real meals a day, and snaking on crap for the rest of the time on top of the shakes... cut down my V consumption from like 4 bottles a day-ish to 2 tins of V. Cut down my smoking heaps... still skinny... eating chocolates more (and I hate chocolate)... still skinny...

No havn't been to the Dr... can't stand those people... but also need to take into consideration I've been under a heap of stress recently for work and personal reasons... so that may have something to do with it... dunno...

Thanks for the PM's on tips and ideas and for all the help...

    PF

Maybe you have a really fast metabolism, sounds like you will struggle to put weight on unless you really make some significant changes to your eating habits and to what you are eating.

There are a number of suppliments on the market which help putting on weight such as creatine monohydrate which helps you retain water (it works great - I use it often) and there are also a lot of high calorie meal replacement formulas around too which are also good but can be costly.

I suggest a high carbohydrate diet for a good 8 weeks, don't try all the chocolate and pies and crap people have mentioned as you will just make yourself more and more unhealthy. Try having high carbo breakfasts with fruit and lunch again try eating loads of carbo's and protein (spuds/pasta with some type of meat) and again eat loads of carbs and red meat for dinner. In between these 3 main meals I suggest snacking on fruit and taking high calorie protein shakes with milk (or bars) and taking 5gms of creatine up to 5 times a day and drinking lots of water right throughout the day.

This should be a good place to start but you will need to stick to it strictly for about 8 weeks.

If you want info on any of the suppliments feel free to PM me.

Thanks again... I'll try the high card diet thing... where can I get that "creatine" stuff from?

Also I don't think the heat and sweating thing has much to do with it, I don't sweat much... the most I ever sweat is when I'm wearing my kevlar gear... and that hasn't been since before Dec...

Eat more... move less... haha Sam thinks I'm lazy enough

Yeah fishslayer has it with Creatine monohydrate stuff... I tried everything while at gym and still didn't gain much weight wise (10kg over 2/3rds a year or something) compared to what I should have. Creatine really helped eh, give it a go. It is usually availiable at sports shops and possibly pharmacies. Try foodtown they may have it (from memory).

I was in a situation like yours for a while.. just impossible to grow lol.

Good luck (long time no see!)

    Hey PF,

Seeing you are Auckland I recommend you go and see Andrew at Endorphin Systems in Onehunga - 337 Onehunga Mall, Ph (09) 636 5999. He is the ower of the place being a sports suppliment store. He is extremely knowlegable and very helpful.

You can pick up Leppin twin packs of 300gm containers of creatine for about $35 which is bloody cheap and will last you for a while.

Eating card won't help, there's very little nutrition in paper products.

    Exercise

Have you tried weight lifting to build up your muscle mass? That is where you really can gain weight, make sure you eat properly though. In time, if you build up enough (nothing drastic) it should increase your BMI to a healthy level. From what you mentioned about your height and current weight, I worked out your BMI to be around 15 which is fucken low.

If you are too lazy, screw healthy food, just go and live at KFC for a while, as previously mentioned.

yeah my BMI is 15 and should be about 20 (according to the scale thingy at our local chemist)...

I had a look at the supermarket for that creatine stuff... and they only sell it as a shake with that Musasi (sp) weight lifting product...

On Saturday night I went to an engagement party and a professional body builder was there, and I asked her about it, and she didn't advise using it, she said if anything it would cause me to loose more weight... she said it pretty much just gives you a boost, and so you would have to be doing weights, but with nothing much to work with I'd run a high risk of burning off what little fat I do have...

    anywho... I'll keep trying

You have to be careful with creatine as the extra weight may be just water plus it is realy designed for increasing ADT levels for weight training and short twitch stuff....plus the jury is still out about longterm effects....liver etc

5gs 5 times a day is too much as you have to take creatine based on your weight.........

I would avoid High Carb diet....problem is that unused carbs turn to fat wich will increase your body at %.....protein is better as it can be stored in muscle and any excess comes out as urine....again don't over do it as it overloads the liver.
You may have just lost weight because you are stressed, it has been very hot so you wll sweat more so may just be a case of increasing water to keep hydrated.......and the loss may just be because of this....
