    Honda VTR250 tank removal?

Hi, I need to replace the air filter on my Honda VTR250 (2010). I could do with some tips on removing the tank as I'm not sure if I have to empty out the petrol or not??? Cheers

I'm no expert, only owned my bike for 6months but here's my 2cents if it's any help. Turn your petcock to off, the tap under the fuel tank make sure it's off and not on reserve. That'll stop the fuel flow so you don't need to empty the tank. Then undo all the bolts or screws securing the tank to the frame. To get it right off and out of the why you'll have to detached the fuel hose leaving the petcock and a breather/overflow hose probably under the tank. I'm not familiar with your bike model so there maybe a little more to disconnect than that just have a look at what's connected when lifting it up a little. Then you'll see your airbox

Go for a nice long ride first. It's a lot easier to wiggle a fairly empty tank about than a full one. I always seem to end up having to take my tank off when it's full, it's fookin heavy! Lack of forward planning on my part I guess.

Yeah, what they've all said. I have a badly photocopied pdf version of the handbook if you want it.
