I had the very first GPZ1100 in NZ, they were great bikes, hope you make your project a worthwhile successor
Nice project. Wheels look great.
I'd be inclined to have minimal rise in the tail - more like the stock set-up was. Looks visually correct that way.
List what the goodness bits are from - front end, wheels, swingarm etc. Plans for the pipes?
Looks interesting, but I agree with AllanB, keep the upswept rear to a minimum to avoid it looking like one of those streetracer thingummies.
Unless that is what you are going for!

Haha dont worry the tail wont be anywhere near that high its just sitting on the seat....
Yes it was on trademe but i have decided to persist with it now.
And as for what it's got, where do i begin
Its based on a 79 Z1000 shaftie frame
2007 Z1000 triples with pro taper fat bars
2009 ZX6 forks
2006 GSXR600 radial mount 4 pot nissin's
That brake and fork combo allowed me to put 320mm Brembo's up front
2010 R1 swingarm shock, linkage and rear brake
All bodywork is GPZ1100 B1
Engine is 83 GPZ1100 hopefully running VM28's
Twin 2 inch yoshies under the tail (only 300mm long)
All switchgear is 2010 R1
Tiny digital speedo
Dyna 2000 spark
And of corse big fat motard looking wheels 120/190
I think im going to pull all the anodising and paint off the forks and triples so its all alloy up front, maybe the swinger too
Here's the pipes!

Very nice indeed, big fan of the fork conversion as i fitted later model GSXR 600/750 front end to my old TLS,made a huge difference combined with aftermarket rims.Nice work looking forward to seeing your progress. If you ever want rid of those rims sing out ive a set of Carrozzerias doing nothing.
Be the person your dog thinks you are...
Forks look good mate.
And sorry the list of people waning the wheels if i get rid of them is about 20 long so far......
Ta,easy as shims on bottom triples, spacers for the original 320 discs and longer bolts for the calipers, forks are great but its the calipers that were a revelation.Could have gone with even later model front end but it got more complicated.Any chance you could pm me the rim details ie where you got em etc.

I thought elections were decided by angry posts on social media. - F5 Dave
The wheels are off a Ducati sports classic, they pop up every now and then but are prett hard to get hold of.
