Because I never finish anything...
I am no longer building the ZZR600, this is taking its place and is what I have been wanting to do with the motor for some time anyhoo.
I picked up a ZXR400H frame off neil_cb125t this weekend, came with swingarm, alloy tank, a nice looking shock with Ohlins spring and a few other handy bits(deal of the year!)
So, is there a plan? Kind of...
I'll be running the ZZR600 motor, of course, with ZX6E cams, advancer and hopefully an airbox will fit in it...
My racetech kitted h1/2 bastard forks, ZZR calipers disks and rims, ZXR rear brake.
Not sure on shock yet, the Ohlins sprung shock, the ZX6R or ZX10R one, any of 'em will fit, but not sure which is bestest yet.
Would like flatslides, but cannot really justify it.
Find a ZXR tank.
Use my R1 tail
Polish frame and swing arm (of course, I'm a bling slut)
Have motor dummied up, am making up the front mounts at the moment
Will cut up some rear mounts and have them welded in by a mate.
The motor is a fairly tight fit, but no frame mods apart from the rear mounts are needed
The mid pipe of the headers fouled on the frame during fitment, but that's no big deal and it needs a new set of headers anyway (may go back to 4-2 system)
Can fit the radiator in with wheel clearance and with the steering going lock to lock. The fan will fit once I have modified the mount so it doesn't hit the oil drain from the head, but am thinking two small 4 inch fans would be very effective.
Need to change the oil cooler position, will be vertical mounted beside the headers.
