    Any Ford car mechanics about?

We have a 96 Laser GLXi that is using a huge amount of gas. On my old commodore and my maxima I can manually get a diagnostic code from the computer. Can I for the laser? Or does it need to go to a dealer for that?

    Chur.

Yeh nah, there's a little levery thing near the speedo you can get manual diagnostics from; take the derivative of its motion to find the fuel useage rate...

Put a new powerband in it. A green one, preferably.

Check your choke if it is Carburettored.

Our old telstar used to do similar and choke was being stuck on, does it run on?

EFI mate. Only getting 360ks out of a tank when it should be early 600s.

Will take it to a auto sparky next week and get a read done on the error codes. Not throwing up an engine check light.
