Northam W.A. About an hours ride east from Perth. Agricultural town, situated on the Avon River, with a population of 3,600.
Eight of us met up with another group (6) in Midland and had an unfortunately slow trip to Northam via the Great Eastern Hwy. Held up by road works and two great trucks taking up the whole road on a big hill. They didn't take my advise and go via Toodyay. Except for a tremendous downpour when we first left, the ride was fairly dry. The weather stayed good for much of the day.
There was a 'show & shine'. There were only two entries of particular note for my money (pics attached).
The street parade attracted a good turn out and I got a few pics.
There was a small narrow race track. M.C racing club W.A, Supermoto W.A and Historic racing W.A all did a few laps. There was also a trials and motocross area, with action most of the day. The barriers weren't good for photo taking unfortunately..
I was disapointed that there weren't more stalls up with bikes on display. Suzuki was best represented with five bikes.
I was hoping to catch up with mstriumph, but alas she never made herself known and didn't call my mobile. I was wearing my 'KiwiBiker' shirt as well.
There was a concert on in the evening, but we didn't stay for that. Festival continues into Sunday.
This was the inaugural event, so hopefully things will only get better.
