K75 ignition coil - bike turns over but won't start

I'm back with another question...I have a 1986 K75 which is not starting. Initially I diagnosed a starter clutch slipping, so have dismantled the entire bike, cleaned it, refitted everything and now the engine turns over which it wasn't before. However it seems to have developed another problem. I have worked out it must be an ignition problem, I've yet to check the spark at the plugs or run any tests on the leads or coils but will tomorrow.

My question is whether number three coil should have a brown wire connected to it. I have connected the HT leads to each coil and connected the respective wires that plug into the base of each coil...and then I noticed a single brown wire... so I screwed it onto the only 'logical' place I could see...number three coil. Bike wont start. :-) If anyone could shed a little light that would be very much appreciated...

you havent checked spark, but youre sure its spark?
The coils will have signal wires coming off your magneto... Wheres the brown come from?
It should, also, run with one cylinder less...
