Imprisoning the guilty does solve at least one problem; they can't commit another murder while free... depending on the jurisdiction you look at the figures for, as many as one in seven murders are committed by people out on bail for previous violent offences, including people who have previously murdered or been active in a (in this case felony) murder.
There is sometimes too much of a focus on prison being a rehabilitation exercise - which it should be if it can, but not at the expense of it being a restraining exercise, i.e. to separate those with criminal and murderous intent from the rest of the population.
"Twenty-three people were convicted of murders committed while free on bail over a five-year period, say Ministry of Justice figures obtained by the Herald. A further 21 were convicted of "homicide-related" offences committed while on bail. These included manslaughter and attempted murder and driving causing death."
So yes, one problem is solved when the murderous guilty are incarcerated.
At the very least in the US , life does mean life. While it might cost a fortune to do it they, do it! and don't complain about the price. Because the alternative is to do what we do here, let the fucked up killers out to do it again! Pity she didn't die too, win win then, no more of them to ever do it again and No Millions of dollars spent keeping another fucked up killer behind bars, never mind the namdi pandi sandal wears who will say, but they had a bad upbringing.
Right or wrong. They still no the difference.
Do the crime, do the time. No excuses.
Stop blaming everything else but the problem.
The problem is educated children, having more children because the system shows them in graphic detail how to do it and that it Pays better than working.
Every day above ground is a good day!:
