    Inaugural Northern Odyssey

This ride is modelled on the Southern Rider Escapade which is run on an annual basis in the South Island.
This ride is being organised under the banner of Ulysses Waikato Branch. On completion of your entry form you will be given a route in the North Island of a little over 1,000 kms. you will have from 26 December 2014 to 27 April 2015 to complete the ride. The route sheet will also include some 30 to 40 questions that will require you to stop every once in a while to get off your bike and locate the obvious answer to a question. When you return you answer sheet to the organisers and if you have enough questions correct for the organiser to be able to conclude that you have completed the route a badge will be sent.
This ride is open to all motorcyclists.
The entry form is attached Click image for larger version.

Could you give a sample of some sort of question?

I've learnt that I've travelled enough of the country, but having compressed it (or done it at night) I'm buggered if I know much more than Mangaweka has a plane (actually, there are some really nice roads out the back of Mangaweka) So uh, depending on the questions, fuggit, I'll just ride the route for my own satisfaction

You will be told where to look for an answer to a question It will be easy to find and obvious. One of the questions for example will refer to information on a very obvious sign at the historic Rangiriri Cemetery. This is a "smell the roses" trip. It will require you to stop and get off the bike every 50 or so kms. None of the questions will be obscure, difficult or cryptic.

There's a cemetery at Rangiriri? Oh crap.

Mmm, doesn't sound too bad, think I may register!

Yes the closing date on the entry form is a typo. It should be 2014. We would love to receive your entry.

Theres at least 2 of them, LOL, helps if you read the question fully

Completed the Northern Odyssey a few weeks back - awesome.

90% of roads I have never been on...... almost 100% of roads I have never been on a mbike.

Great for NOOB or anyone learning about reading questions, navigation, trip planning, speed & ability, fuel range, what to take(luckily took oil for bike), hydration, history - mostly about what I can do, what I have to learn about, what I don't know

Have wondered how many people did this.
