As we have seen, he only has to come up with the suggestion and thats good enough proof for the left wingers!

The fact that it doesn't bother you is also disturbing, in that, if you are prepared to accept this level of surveillance, what are you ultimately prepared to accept - and why do you accept it? Nothing to hide so nothing to worry about. You aren't alone in this - it is rather disturbing the number of people who are quite prepared to be spied on in this way....only collecting metadata......it's still "being spied on", and we have a right to have some privacy in our lives. When it becomes legal for us to go trawling through all the MP's emails, phone calls, etc, etc, then maybe, but until then........
The reason I'm not so disturbed about it is at least they will be collecting CORRECT data on me. As opposed to the modern day citizen gossip stasi who've corrupted the data once its been relayed more than once...
I used to be quite a private person then trucking through the night listening to the CB conversations of all and sundry I realised we don't really have any privacy. There are guys out there that all they do all night long is blab on about so and so, his family, where they live, what cars they own etc... And of course this extends to other industries and jobs too. People around us know much more of our private business than many would care to admit.

And the volume of data is so over whelming that your only going to be in the gun sights should you wish to stoop into the world of politics or be a key prosecution witness at a police corruption trial...
That TV show person of interest summed it up well, the machine collects so much data but only a portion of it can be acted upon.

Really if anything we should be worried about the collection of our DNA data if anything. As race specific bioweapons will be the next weapon of choice should we have another hitler on the scene. They are already being developed btw, no prizes for guess which Pariah state is one of the leaders in this field...

Looks like we were both correct in our early assumption of how the 'Boobshell' would pan out.

''The dirt on key?.. it's my belief, that whatever he has on Key (if anything) wont be worth a mention at all, which is why he does not want speak out now, might make him look a mug''.

Not a Key supporter, both he and his (close) cohorts will continue to brush aside/deny any revelations about his knowledge of mass spying, thus continually deceiving the NZ public, which a large portion of, can see through his ''not to my knowledge'' line.

About the only thing we can be sure of is that the internet, which started out as a really great idea, is run by prize arses, spied on by prize arses and exploited by prize arses.... Us users are pretty decent though...

Doesn't look like there's a whole lot more to dig, Key won't have many problems getting in, KDC made a dick of himself last night ( his staff would agree ) and Cunliffe has forgotten that he has some people behind him ( who largely don't like him ) hence we don't see or hear from them in the media.

    Game over.

I can see the whole mass survaillance thing leading eventually to only one place - a police state.

Countries around the world are already taking steps to suppress their citizens right to protest anything.

Those who simply spout "if you've got nothing to hide, you've got nothing to worry about" deserve euthanization.

The problem is that most people don't understand what they have to hide. They blindly think that they aren't doing anything illegal and so they have nothing to hide. This is of course far from true.

Your information is valuable to all kinds of people for all sorts of reasons. The NSA are collecting your information as Snowen revealed. They claim that it's for tracking terrorists but you can but they are doing more with it. Look what this guy managed to do:

...I don't think the populace actually knows what the TPPA is about and all this kraut/key wank is helping to keep it out of the picture...not enough kiwis are up with the play and never will be...I see more well deserved self lubrication in the near future...
