Internet mogul Kim Dotcom says the United States Justice Department destroyed his marriage.
New Zealand police carried out a raid on his Auckland mansion in 2012 on behalf of the FBI, which is overseen by the US Justice Department.
Dotcom is facing privacy charges relating to his file-sharing website Megaupload and has been fighting against his extradition to the US.
Dotcom said his break up with wife Mona was connected to the stress.
"I blame the Department of Justice for that," he told the New Yorker on Sunday (NZT) in a virtual interview.
"My wife and I we were happy before the case.
"We were living in this completely happy bubble in our happy world and we didn't have any issues."
The couple had five children and had a long term plan, he said.
"This whole raid, everything that happened with the case, you know the continuos restraints and attacks, they just made it so difficult to live a normal life that it affected our relationship.
"For me that is the single, biggest negative outcome of all of this that I've lost my family.
"I will have my kids grow up with a broken family and I will not be with my wife who I loved and that's very sad."
The couple had been married for five years before Dotcom announced the split in May.
Megaupload, Dotcom and other parties filed a motion in the Federal District Court in the Eastern District of Virginia on Friday US time asking the court to dismiss the copyright claims that make up the core of the US government's criminal case against the defendants, his lawyer Ira Rothkin said.
