Any on board camera which shows the instruments could also be considered a data logger...

Back in the 90's approval was granted for radio link pit to rider - seems to be one of those rules dropped out of the book without notice.

They sure are... Many Cameras have GPS in them now days, so doesn't even need to show instruments (Rev Counter is the only one of note).
