New Auckland dirt biker (chadsta)

Hey everyone, after 5 long years of getting on my feet in NZ, I have finally managed to purchase a KTM300EXC for myself and a KTM250EXC-F for my missus to learn on.
I am originally from KZN South Africa and did many years of enduro riding with a good group of old friends back there on a YZ250 (with enduro mods).

Looking forward to meeting more people in the NZ biking community and hopefully finding a group of people to ride with on a regular basis.
I am technically minded so hopefully I can contribute to a few questions on the forums and hopefully also get help on some of my queries.
I follow the enduro scene, AMA supercross and AMA motocross closely and am pretty much obsessed with dirt biking.
Once I know what is going on around NZ in the dirt biking scene, I would like to attend a few events over here to watch some live racing.

Just need to figure how to search on the forum so I dont irritate everyone with repeat questions.

our dirt bike scene is pretty good but a little small.
the best place to search for whats on is silver bullet.

There are a few places around AKL that you can ride most days.
the sand pit at Woodhill is the one that's closest to me and the others on here will be able to tell you more on what is down south.( they have changed a few names and ihavent been to any).

epic events and off limits do a few two day rides through out the year.

Heard only good things about 'Thundercross Valley Bike Park' down south so will check them out when they open on the 1st September.
Apparently they have a nice area to learn and woman ride for free which is a bonus!

Will probably see you around Woodhill, looking forward to getting into the more advanced tracks once my bike is run in.

Welcome, hope you enjoy your stay. Good cemetery in St Johns if I remember correctly, would make an excellent enduro course. It's not like all those dead fuckers are gonna complain. And the train tracks across the estuary would be a laugh too.

Woodhill is best in the wet but if you get out into the tight trails and not just ride the main trails, where it gets very soft, it is great to learn on.
There is also the old carpark where they now have the enduroX track set up, good place to learn.
And there is a shit load of tracks to ride where the others just seem to have one or two.
