Got The Hot Zone just after it was released and yes an excellent read! The first chapter is enough to scare the shit out of you and it's a 'can't put it down' book from there on through.

His book on Smallpox 'The Demon In The Freezer' is also very enlightening.

Richard Preston is an excellent writer.

He has also written a gripping novel, The Cobra Event which is about a weaponised type of virus. Absolutely chilling and one of my favourite books.

Somewhere a military "mind" is having wet dreams about weaponising Ebola. If they change Ebola so it lasts a few weeks then naturally dies out it would be an ideal way of wiping out troublesome regimes ie countries that have all the resources but don't want to give them up.

2. There is a serum which American companies (incl ZMAP) are already getting rich from. Based on injecting ebola antibodies said to have been extracted from infected monkeys then implanted into tobacco plants to grow an extract which is the basis of the serum (which hasn't yet been proven to be responsible for the patients recoveries). The lie here (because they are everywhere with anything American), is that the original antibody was sourced via Canada from Russia and that it was taken from either cows or goats rather than monkeys. You can bet your bottom dollar that it will become a global pandemic (but only once the lying sacks of shit known as the CDC and WHO proclaim that a recognised cure is available... for an immodest $um). BTW if you want actual antibodies rather than tobacco sap (that likely doesn't even work), the only viable supply and production facility is in Russia. What do you think of the chances of that happening is?

3. You can't see shit when you squeeze your eyes tightly shut (as you must have, because the evidence was quoted and linked in my previous post). Sheeesh! There is no helping some sheep.
