Drop in the bucket, even compared to Rabies

When you look at the big killers Ebola is a non event, it's only media hype making it look worse than it is

We've responded slowly, and that ain't just down to TPTB (hence nestle etc... throwing money at the problem in order to protect their profits, I mean workers). Peeps just ain't used to cooperating at those sorts of levels, primarily because fucktards get in the way (usually bitching that there isn't enough money or spending a small age raising the money ). blah blah blah.....
No-one is really sure how many cases there are in Liberia alone but highest - but not unreasonable - estimates are 8000, of which 4000 have died. These figures are different from those most commonly quoted (which provides fuel for the conspirators) and result from a combination of underreporting, inability to diagnose other than clinically, including as part of the Ebola death toll patients who didn't die from that particular infectious disease but from another, and including patients who died from Ebola in deaths from other infectious diseases... It's not just a problem of lack of enough doctors making the clinical diagnosis, it's also a problem of laboratory facilities confirming that diagnosis. Many patients who present for a test may not be laboratory positive when they present... But subsequently die without retesting.

One of the two crashed riders in the previous post was riding a Triumph Triple. BMW bikes are pretty ubiquitous down in southern Africa but not so much further north... Lots of cheap Chinese import bikes, with a scattering of leftover Hondas and the occasional Suzuki (for whatever reason almost no Yamahas or KTMs and so forth...).

Absolutely, but if your doctors and nurses are dying, who's going to take the samples and make the distinction between what is an Ebola death or otherwise? Don't you think we could have pushed the boat out a bit more in regards to a response? Then why haven't we? Tell you what, conspiracy theory to come . Now as a conspiracy theorist (not A-typical maybe, maybe) I accept that this incident may well have been man made. The reason for that is simple, there are people in this world who would do such a thing. It's a rational belief based on a long history of man playing god. But yeah, more resources required all round. With any luck it'll vanish.

So one has to ask again why are infected victims being flown to other countries for treatment risking whole countries???? Clearly because its all staged/controlled and the Elite are confident they have control of this version that they released...

I do wonder at times, and yet based on the faces we're allowed to see, the runaway train theory would hold quite strongly too .

Agree entirely that if we don't have enough people who know what they're doing alive on the ground, we won't know what we don't know about morbidity and mortality. The short answer about why we didn't respond faster and this is purely an opinion, is because of a toxic stew with the following ingredients in different proportions - YMMV
    • political correctness
    • the corruptocracy of the UN (and therefore, inevitably, amongst some of its organisations such as WHO)
    • bureaucratic inertia, ineptitude, lack of insight, lack of foresight, lack of neurones
    • inverse racism
    • donor fatigue
    • the belief that "it's too bad to be that believably bad"
    • the belief that "a CIA/Pentagon/MoveOn/Occupy/Conservative/Liberal/Bilderberg/name your conspiracy du jour" plot

if you look at where the outbreak actually started and the gene tracking has been done since the initial West Africa Patient Zero (a toddler) - if people are saying this is deliberately man-made and spread by the black helicopter brigade, then all I can say is, whichever government is responsible is suddenly and IMO unbelievably capable of a previously unheard of degree of scientific innovation, epidemiological competence and track-covering...

Off topic perhaps, but most of the motorcycle riders that I deal with professionally who have crashed or otherwise need medical attention in Africa are not the Long Way Around multiple pannier BMW types with support crews and luggage dollies (not that there's anything wrong with that). They've taken a few months off work, saved for a few years, are travelling with no more support than a toolkit and a tablet, and are pleasant and unpretentious to deal with.

Aye, logistically possible, but that no one wants the end of the shitty stick it becomes a logistics nightmare for any excuse/reason that can be dreamed up to sound plausible to us dumb folk. Fuck it, give me the funds and I'll have it sorted next week

Ach if only it were the govt that did these things it'd be easy, but such acts are condoned elsewhere before the entertainment department, govt, pop up on the telly to tell us that dey got dis shit. Thing is, we have the virus and all that's needed is to release it. In regards to innovation, everything has to come from the mind of someone, the light bulb, tv, medicine etc... sometimes we stumble across things that may well be of use, should one be so inclined to indulge their darker side, and they certainly don't have to be in govt to achieve that (quite the opposite, as you highlight, if you want a decent shot at getting the job done lol).

I think we should execute everyone of them adventure riders before they get back to NZ... we could pretend that they were riding for ISIS.

Like NZ media/public would be any different reporting NZ's first reported case.

heh, not fuckin likely... at least not without restraints and running the risk of death by putting a needle anywhere near me, or my family, that I don't want. As for the, oh but you'll infect the rest of the world brigade, they can fuck right off as they'll be inoculated so my decision won't infect to them. Oooooo that tweaks my adrenal gland.

The countdown to save the world from Ebola

"The UN has issued a stark warning that if the world does not get Ebola under control within 60 days, we face an "unprecedented situation for which we don’t have a plan"."

they're currently running to a plan?

When they say " The World" they mean the US and Europe?
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.
