A mate had an old K100 and we spent quite a bit of time talking about how easy it would be to turbo - put the turbo down near the rear of the cylinder head, compressor blowing though the standard injection - the K100 had a swinging door flow meter so no injection computer to try and remap.
The he bought an 1100R / RS or something so that was the end of that idea.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.

Ok Got the bad boy home.
Van can fit a k100 with lt fairings less the screen (JUST).
Spent the first day trying to work out if I should molest the bike as it was in very good condition and a battery, vin etc would turn a nice profit.
Sunday came and pulled it apart.
Before and afters.

Yes also has a new hagon shock on the back plus new braided brake lines ( new could be last 3 years).
The Brembos im not sure about. Has brembo adaption hangers and also has brembo rear brakes and also the back reservoir is brembo. Maybe a limited edition or someone spent serious monies.

Looking good mate. There's something about those 80s K beasts that's always done it for me.
I think it's the dense engine plus shafty in conjunction with the visual gaps (and disappeared structure) that lends them to such an unashamed cafe style.![]()
I'm restoring the k100 that Bike Clinic built for Bill Biber to race in the '80's.
They are a deceptively easy bike to strip & assemble.
Found a guy in Churton Park who will make a custom 4 into one collector today for $65.00.
Hes a retired guy who spent a lot of his times making custom flows for cars. I think he was more interested in doing the job than the money to be honest.
Question. Repainting wheels is powdercoat the way to go or not?

Here's a couple of pics of the Cycleworks system that was built for The Bike Clinic K100 in the early '80's. Damon (the original maker of it) kindly restored it for me earlier this year at no cost ready to be attached to the bike upon completion of the resto.
It may give you a few ideas.
Edit, oh dear, shit photos.
