    Holly Wotsername...

Did anyone else here see that 20/20 thing last night about the 17 y/old who was born with some major hip problem, that resulted in here breaking her leg the 1st time she attempted to walk, then she got some sorta Major (tumour?) issue with the same leg but is now considered one of the top 10 ballet dancers for her age in the world? Single parent family with no transport - her brothers lug 200kg of music gear round on buses to busk 4 days a week (until they were stopped), and Holly and her mother sell food downtown late nights to raise money for her to attend a dance school.

I gotta admit, between that and the publicity old Burt is / will be getting it's nice to hear about extraordinary new zealanders.

I have enough trouble with tiny issues like when to knock my kitchen out at home or when to shift jobs, these people are on a different level - of bravery and everything else.

Spose the rewards for them are huge tho, the feeling achievement and self satisfaction that most of us will rarely (if ever) feel when they hit their goals.

Yep, hats off to people like that!!

A lot of us think a 'life crisis' is deciding what brand of tyre to buy, kinda puts things in perspective eh?

I started off thinking, "Ho hum - another story..." and was about to go to bed. But that was very inspiring. The attitude of that girl, her mother and brothers really blew me away.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Well done to that family. Its people like that, that always seem to make the world a better place
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

    I'm actually...

Considering putting together a qik site, in an attempt to help her out in some way, sort of an information / hold hand out type thing, with maybe paypal (cos i'd be paying the hosting bills and i can't afford realtime credit processing).

I was amping to do it last night, now i'm fighting the apathy of the common man. I also know how sick to death most people are of being asked to fork out for this and that - but its just such a great cause... and she and her family deserve a hand.

Actually i'd just like to get off my ass and help somebody out cos it's as rare as that family is...

Yeah I saw that... made me feel real guilty... I've walked past them on Queen St so many times, and had change in my pockets and thought "eh screw that" and not given them anything... if I had actually stopped and bothered to read thier little signs I might have...
I'm not a complete idiot... some pieces are missing
