    Well hello (TheWelshButcher)

I thought i would come out of the dark as a (guest user) and expose my Welsh-ness on you all.

I have been a road rider since 13 years young, now pushing closer to 40 (but not there yet) I find myself wanting for more in my life than speeding tickets. Ive done the track thing here in NZ and back in the UK and board to tears of going round and round a perfect road surface chasing someone who believes he or she is the best biker since bread was fashionable.

this take me to the speeding tickets, the challenge was to go crazy fast on the road where the risk and dangers are much greater and please dont start on the speed thing ! ive never been or caused an accident this is manly due to using common sense when to push hard and when not to.

so now getting fatter and not look very flash in a leather one-piece suit no more i have taken on a new calling (dirt) I dipped my toe in this murky bath with a KTM 690 enduro R. Great bike to be honest will go anywhere and also offer short 2 up comfort tips to the local coffee shop.

now last sunday i decided to try my first trail-ride Dalethorpe forest, yes i was that bloke on the 690, yes i did manage to get around the loop and yes it did take 3.5 hours.

on monday i popped back into see Chris at KTM and ordered a freeride 350.

Yes i am hooked, big time.

so thats me folks, i would like to catch up with dirty bikers :-) who are willing to trade some of their skills for my crap jokes and a few hot pies and beer.

I look forward to catching up soon

    peace out

    Lee

    Hi there Lee
Looks like i better get this thread rolling a bit, I hear where you're coming from re ex road bike rider, me too.
Been riding dirt bikes for a long time now and really can't see myself going back, the thing with dirt bike riding is that you see no cops, theres very few rules to follow and you can point your bike in any direction and go there-complete freedom.
I did hear of some crazy person at dalethorpe ride on a big ADV bike, my first thought was "what the *uck" and it was you .

I did it too with a mate and we took 3 hours to get round one lap, had plenty of water stops, get offs, and general chat stops, so, 3.5 was actually pretty good.
Although i'm quite sure you will never try it again on that bike.

    Welcome to KB forum.

    Cheers

Never say never but yes the 690 is getting traded in for a 350 freeride, in saying that the 690 did the job and I think at the hands of someone who knows what they are doing it would go around that trail all day long.

    Cheers

Well folks, thanks for the welcome - well the few :-)

since turning fully dirt i decided that the KTM was not the tool for the job, now i have a nice new GASGAS EC 300 F four stroke. its sounds awesome and looks the nuts.

more pics and vids to come ( well once i know how to add them )
