Blah Why am I called boots? (*Boot's*)

Ok, Im new here… My names Boots because I keep getting the boot. (boss gets un nerved when you know more than him and customers like you to much as it seems. Im a tradey doing contract work now because of it. Have just got my hands on a well loved second/third/fourth hand me down 93 Yamaha FZR 250. The poor little thing needs love and attention before too much riding but when she's ready, I would be interested in participating in rides with others. Riding about gets a little lonely on ya own. If your female and attractive? even better! hah!. So anyone feel free to contact me and get the ball rolling. My little Ferrari isn't the fastest but I'm pretty good company. Waikato/Auckland.

(I knew a Boots along time ago.
He was an Abbo in Pt Hedland, who got that name because boots were his only footwear. One pair only.
Heaps of $$$$ for booze. But none for footwear)

HAHA, went contracting because the boss felt to threatened by the sounds of it from fellas out in the field. Kept getting customers calling up saying how wonderful I was…. boss got nervous…. Never had a customer complaint while out on my own thank you for the kinship tho :P

Just starting out with a bike so have taken time to research what I need. 1tonne has some good gear for cheap are they quality? and what should I expect to pay for a pair of boots? gloves? also is it a good idea to keep a tube of aryldyte in the glove box incase i get a stone in my radiator miles from repair station? what other bits should I carry? Also the bike is a running project, so far I have stripped the fairings and wind shield/front of the bit down due to cracks and brakages…… looks better than half a fairing flapping along the highway. If anyone from the Waikato is interested, I am looking for a riding buddy maybe similar size engine? or someone who understand we will be stopping at every petrol station imaginable if I'm too keep up. I am about to pick up a caber flip helmet, apart from that I haven't brought any gear. So general rule of thumb etc for buying gear would be appreciated. Any advice for engine work too…. runs but noisy. Guess burnt valve and dirty lifters if they have lifters in the engine? I think the motor got cooked fro previous owner having a crack in his radiator. Do we wear thermals under our gear? do i need to buy a scarf to tuck into my jacket? whats the best radar jammer/detector? tires oils lubes etc etc, and is there any way to make money off these things while riding? courier weekend work? so many questions… I will be scouring the F.A.Q. pages.
