Should be able to set it up to turn on and off (supercharger) at the push of a button like on a car surely?

What type of car has that feature?
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

Just figured a dude on the West Coast couldn't have been the first...maybe I'm wrong. Something I filed in the memory bank without looking into much further.

I believe the A/C button turns it on and off

Why would you want to? Chances are the engines been built with supercharging in mind - maybe lower compression set up. If you have a vacuum valve fitted at idle or low loads the supercharger is bypassed. Grab a handful of throttle and the supercharger kicks in.
I love the smell of twin V16's in the morning..

The falcon in MadMax had that but whether it really worked or not…

Using the magnetic clutch from an A/c compressor is feasible but i have no idea what sort of torque they can handle. Superchargers at full noise take quite a lot of power to drive - at the the extreme end a top fuel blower is reputed to need about 300HP or more to drive.

Yes that would probably be a better approach, although you could still have a feature to automatically keep you under the rev range.
Why? MPGs. They seem to be all the rage these days XD Also maybe just a conditions things, wet settings, track, sports etc. Like the BS they put in some cars these days. Worth it? Maybe not, just something that crossed my mind.

There was another factory Ford with it. I had a quick look last night as I just took it for granted it was a relatively straight forward thing to do.
Bit different (easier) but I mean you can even adjust the boost of a turbocharger from your driver's seat these days (and still have it all correctly fuelling).

That Hilux has had that setup for a long time. Not sure how much he uses it but by the fact there is no straight panel on that truck I'd say it gets a decent amount of jandal time

That would have to be a drag car and custom setup though? Different kettle of fish for a vehicle that is designed to be ridden/driven reliably on the road on a regular basis.

Who knows though, maybe they go all out with a supercharged 1.4L motor. The are doing the marketing/suspense thing well either way.

Also on the front as to why they came and went, wasn't a lot of it because so much tech comes for motorsports, but forced induction was not allowed in most of the top levels for ages? I don't follow it anymore but the F1 is back to a turdbo engines I heard.

Kawasaki will be relying on their top end jet ski experienced - they supercharge those bad boys.

3rd teaser released with a glimpse of the bike - it is an all out sportsbike, sure isn't a scooter.

    see; www.ninja-h2.com

Lucky I'm not looking for any more sportsbikes in my life.

Low bars and no chance of a pillion seat. Doesn't look like a ZX14 replacement.

This is a really good site for info on the new super kwaksak.
The related posts at the bottom of the article go into tech speak with schematics about the supercharger and its benefits.

I got a feeling insurance companies are not going to like this bike. So many of these are going to get written off in the first few months of sales it won't be funny.
300hp is pushing it for a factory bike IMO, its going to need water to air intercooling (which isn't as easy as you think to fit on a bike) just to run the amount of boost it takes to make that much power. Just the size of the charger in the pictures alone says there is no way its capable of 300.

Im betting its going to run at 6 to 8 psi and make less than 220hp. People will no doubt try and squeeze more out of it without knowing what they are doing (like ricers) and end up melting the motor.

Going to be a great bike, I just can't see it really living up to the hype

Insurance companies don't likes bikes much anyway. Doesn't take much to write a bike off as uneconomic to repair. The rate will be set based on the cc rating of the bike making the 750 cheaper than a larger bike capable of matching it's performance.

On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '
