Saddened today to hear of the passing of E S Y in Christchurch this morning. An interesting chap who wrote many an interesting story on F1, and was a founding member of the Mclaren team, even though he was just a journalist.......

That is sad. Theres a great story of him being asked to help Denny Hulme* rebuild a gearbox and asking him what to do with the leftover bits when he was "finished". They didnt get him to do mechanical stuff after that.....
