    Thumbs up Yamaha CS5e 1972

    hello

may be looking to sell bike reluctantly.
not sure on the value of these bikes, i hear there quite rare but does not have a rego plate or wof (DEREGISTERED)
i do how ever have old owner papers which will help in re-vinning process

obviously bike is not going for a dollar just wanting some feed back on prices that i might be looking at for this.

    cheers everyone

The bringing of the REG back from the dead, is not to big a deal, the old REG papers will help, first you need a form to fill out for the police, serial Nos and Vin no, old plate No to if you have this, they just check to see its not on their files as stolen, the next is a decleration with a JP, to say the bike is yours, the third step if the old REG No is not in the system is to get a letter from Yamaha NZ, through your Local dealer, stating Yamaha brought that model into NZ for use on the road.
Then take all this info with the bike to either a VINZ or VTNZ, once it has passed a new WOF check and you pay 6 Months reg, it will possibly worth $2500.
I used the VINZ station in Melling LH on Parliament St, to bring an old Honda XL 500 back to life, a few years ago, there were no dramas.

Lovely old bikes. Well popular in the UK - mainly USA imports cos they arent so rusty.

If you've got the right paperwork, about $200 for inspection, VIN and WOF. Then about $50 to register, then 12 months rego at about $120 (classic). But it'll add a lot more than that to the sale price - people don't want to go through the process.
