GN250 starter problems

Sounds like reg/rec to me.

You should be able to see it behind the motor, just under the join in the seat and fuel tank.

It looks something like this:

There should be 5 wires coming out of it, 3 yellow, 1 red and one black

Give them a neat tug, if any come out and are all black and sooty, and smell like burning, then that's your problem.

Completely forgot to update.

Regulator had a short - got it fixed.

A week or three later speedo cable fell out of speedo drive, screwed it back in and discovered the lower mechanism had fallen out of the drive. Replaced with a Japanese part and all fixed.

Sold the bike 2 weeks ago and brought a wee VTR to play on for a while.
