Beheading has only become suddenly horrific to us since it's been thrust in our faces.

I'm currently reading about Algeria's civil war during the mid 90's. (A conflict that happened well within easy memory but how many of us remember, or even heard, anything about it?). More than 10,000 died exactly like that - without the fanfare of getting to publicly appeal to family or politician.

The Middle East is a shit hole. We should leave them to it. As harsh as it sounds, it sometimes sucks to be certain people.

Thankfully as oil becomes less of a desirable commodity we may well one day see the West lose it's fascination with the Middle East.

Yeah this manner of beheading with a small knife is barbaric beyond comprehension. If beheading people alive isn't bad enough it's doing it in a manner that intended to draw out the suffering.

If I was given the choice of my execution I reckon the good old French guillotine over a bullet or injection. Silent, instant and supposedly painless. But the way these IS scum make the person wait, say a few tortured words all the while knowing that in a matter of seconds someone is going to hold them down and hack away at their neck and throat for what must seem like an eternity of pain and then they struggle to break their spine to finally remove the head. I've watched a clip of a Saudi Arabian public beheading by a LARGE and SHARP sword. One swing, instant death. Seems better than a bullet ripping through your organs, exploding out the back of your body and dying from the internal damage it did on the way through.

You should do some more reading.

The majority of beheadings where dished out by death squads wiping out entire villages, including women and children, by hacking away at their throats.

Believe what you lot want to but to put your heads up your own arses is enough for me, I chose to see these very capable, very determined muslims continuing to do whatever they want in the name of their peaceful god in order to bring the rest of the worlds religions to heel, or die if they refuse.
I see no islamist's decrying these depraved atrocities, I see no western people getting out in the streets and demanding their govts protect them from these random and very serious atrocities.
I see many muslims walking around my home country smiling at the news of beheadings in other countries now, I say send em all home and let them do it to each other as they used to in the "old country"

That isn't going to happen, so what I want to see is I want to see those muslims who are peace loving ordinary NZ citizens, friends and neighbours of ours living amongst us getting their own house in order and letting us their adopted country know in No Uncertain terms that they DO NOT Condone these acts.
That they are not so scared of the few amongst them that they won't DOB em in and help us rid our place of these fanatics.
