It's not the kids fault they have shit parents, why punish them for it?

Fine. Lets feed the kids. And then remove any subsidies their parents receive. Why should Joe average pay to feed their kids twice?

I don't know what you think that means.

But: More than half of NZ families receive more in subsidies than they pay in tax. That's fucking ridiculous, and it's time the hand-outs for middle NZ stopped. And let's face it, if you taxed them less they wouldn't need subsidies, would they?

You must be fucking desperate to blame someone other than the parents for hungry NZ kids to trundle out the same tired old blame JK shit.

It takes a special effort to be poor in NZ, but even the poor usually have their kids dinner right on top of the list. There's just one reason any kid turns up to school hungry in NZ: their parents are scum.

Got no real problem with that, but we should extend that removing of subsidies to the "higher class" too, they cost Joe average alot more

Doesn't matter what age, if you get a benefit to include feeding your kids, and don't bother doing so (for ciggies or any other reason) then you are the fucking underclass; end of story.

We shouldn't need to go all nanny state and supervise or supplement such basics of life because some dumb fucks are too self centered to care for their offspring. This makes a bloody good case for why beneficiaries should lose the right to vote.

    A common sentiment.

By "higher class" I assume you mean high income earners? The ones paying the majority of income tax?

How do you conclude they enjoy "subsidies" then?

Na more the ones doing their best to avoid paying any tax, honest ones are alright. & Govt

I'd 1st start by scrapping all Govt perks (& tying them to a % pay), that'd save the country hundreds of millions right off the bat

That wee graph says high income families pay almost all of the tax.

Which taxes exactly do you think are being avoided? And by whom?

Wouldn't be motivational at all, as anyon in it for the money would just get a different job, and you'd be left with those just in it for the power, or those who wish to make a difference.

Pay peanuts and you'll get monkeys. I know the current crop might not look much better at times, but the nature of their job is to be criticised for anything, and never praised; it'd be a hell of a lot worse if monkeys were doing it.

there's ALOT of tax being avoided, maybee you've chosen to ignore the IRD's "tax evasion" stats each year & that's before you get into legalised tax evasion (but hey that's alright cause it's legal right)
This is from a study done by Victoria University

Benefit fraud cost New Zealand $22 million in 2010, or around $5 for each New Zealander. While it is difficult to get accurate figures for tax evasion, the Tax Justice Network estimates New Zealand missed out on more than $7.4 billion of tax revenue in 2011, or around $1,500 per New Zealander.
