How a junction box is wired has little to do with business decisions. I'd rather have somebody specialised in business than the tech aspects running the business, and vice versa.

No, you don't and it doesn't. Peer reviewed showed what the evidence shows; just as management's underlings show how the business/country is running. I'm not an expert in many fields, and that is precisely why I look to peer reviewed works for an interpretation of the evidence; as management should look to workers and lower management to interpret that which they manage. That you consider these ideas to be hypocritical just shows how completely you misunderstand how one or the other works.

People should know the business they're running Full Stop! But the country is NOT a business & that's the biggest failings of these people

The people you want running the business are the exact reason many businesses go to shit.

So the guy who brokers my deals, finances, investments, needs to know how to code in 5 diferent languages, operate your standard workshop gear, and advanced CNC stuff? what fucking point is there in that? He'd have to train another 5 years to get that knowledge, and for what? how would that help us out? I tell him how long shit will take, and how much it will cost, and he figures out just how profitable it would be; works extremely well.

The country needs running by managers, not bin-men. Same as businesses, no it isn't a business in the traditional sense, but increasing profits/production (GDP) does lead to increases in standards of living just the same as for business.

Which red herring? is it the one all your questions are directed towards, cos if so it is not me running off with it...

Yeh, he selects what jobs are most worth doing. Yup, I'm on wages but with all the OT it certainly works out that way. The pay peanuts thing is again, relative, my line of work 6 figures is what you need to pay to get the good guys. For many other jobs (including a number we contract out to) even half that figure would not be considered peanuts.
