To go back to the OP, not that there would be any hope of getting the thread back on track, actually perhaps it is on track

Keep up the slow speed stuff, it does help you avoid slow speed offs but also give you a feel for the bike and how it will out ride you. By slow riding you can also learn things like if you look where you want to go then that is where you will go, in your case teach yourself not to look at the kerb but around the corner, if you are doing a full circle then at about 90 degrees or more to where you are. This is good for avoid cars and trucks, even trees, that you really don't want to hit.

Good luck with the forums. There be mentors also on this site so I be told and also riding groups for those wanting to learn with like minded company in some areas like that blot on the landscape between the Brynderwyns and Bombays

Thanks, I'll keep working on it, I made several u- turns yesterday which was an improvement from the last couple of days, but I can see where I've been going wrong. Cheers for the advice

Hello. Do figure 8's. You get confident turning both ways, moving your head in the direction you want to go & flipping the bike from side to side. Off set slaloms are good, too. Tighter & wider turns force you to think about the corner, control speed, balance etc.
    Have fun.

Also easier to practise stand up wheelies than seated, just cover the back brake

As others have said - slow speed practice is good

I recommend coming along to NASS/SASS to work on your riding skills - also seriously recommend the Ride Forever courses
