ye gods, i do hope you moderate your coarser impulses (and language) in front of them ...

but of course you do - you're a great big conservative softie at heart, aren't you

ok - addressing the problem at hand ... personally, i don't believe in generic 'children' ... i don't believe they can be slotted into categories with tick box checklists (girl? tick 'pink', 'barbies' etc)

i'll make a wild guess that you know them as individuals better than most people know their offspring ... so you already know what would please them. that just leaves the problem of where to find it ... solved by (as someone has already suggested) five minutes joint consultation with them on the internet.

    have at it, champ!
    conservative?

    Softie??

Do the cable car, go to the museum in the old bond store , http://www.museumswellington.org.nz/...-city-and-sea/

Take a drive out around the coast at Miaramar / Seatoun if you have wheels .

Go to the top of Mt Vic

If the weather is shit go to the airport & watch pilots shit themselves. Always a good look

Cable car and planetarium... botanical gardens, parliament, Te Papa, walk along the waterfront, hire a sea kayak from Fergus Rock and kayak, rollerblades, climbing wall, crocodile bikes, tugboat café, gelato ice cream from Café ii's, paddle boats, take in a movie at the Embassy, visit the Brooklyn wind turbine, catch a train to the Wairarapa..take a bike for a test ride and do the Rimutakas, visit Somers Island, take the ferry to Eastbourne and back...
Visit Wellington Motorcycles and get a coffee... Visit Southward car museum, Bond store / waterfront maritime museum, go up Cuba mall on a Friday night for the food stalls, take the girls to Kirkaldies , drive along the South coast. Go up Mount Victoria

That should fill a couple of days

All great ideas, but I would suggest having a shit in the middle of Courtenay Place. Could be worth five bucks and a bag of chips?

Failing that just toot your horn in all the tunnels. The locals love it.

Its not that cheap but book the trip out to Kapiti Island. You have a stiff hike up the hill but worth it...

Or - take the train out to Paraparaumu and wander around the mall or go to the swimming pool (quite new and has a hydro slide of sorts) and take the train back into town. Trains about a hour each way...

Never mind the Eggs Benny. Head to Wholly Bagels and order a Pilgrim on Sesame. Jewish yes, but gooooood.

Fidels is pretty good. Its been a while since I was there but Scopa used to be ok.

Baobub in Newtown is a funky little place to go with good food. The Bach in Island Bay.

Last suggestion because I am being far too nice to you is Gotham.....its the cafe the city deserves.....(see what I did there)
