    Shed/workshop queries for tradies

    electricunts:
shed runs as spur off main building. Breaker inside house is 20a (with earth leak (dipole?) rcd thing), shed board has 2x 15a gpo and 1x 5a lighting circuit. 40a total aye
House board has 140a total on the face of it, with the 'main' being 3gang 240/415
this sounds like three phase, which might come in handy in the shed, but 'slike its only one phase going to, yea?
So, can i put a 40 or 50a breaker inside house, as by the time im making noise with tools im over 20a, and walking over and flipping itd be a cunt.
    Yes/no?
2, can i drag full 3 phase to the shed? What is code requirement re ducting/poles/conduit?
Then, presumably i can tap off single phase too?

    Concrete finisher cunts:
the floor is 6-10 slabs jigsawed together. 80sq meters.
Total variation over 30mm, chips, holes etc. Plus oil stains and shit.
Can i hit it with leveller compound? (any prep?) Am i better boxing up and tying another (4") slab on top? Or grinding down 5-10?
As much as id love to epox it, its probably going to have to deal with mere paint. Only one bay will have trolley jack abusing it as i plan on a gantry. The rest is basically workshop floor, no doubt the odd oil or coolant spill but generally just walked on...

also, im at the end of the powerlines in the wops. Theres an 8?kva transformer that supplies 3 farm houses and another shed already.
Got a stack load more lifestylers invading further toward main feed in end so dont know if this is likely to fuck up capacity?

the breaker is there to protect the cable, depends on what size cable is running over as to what size protection it needs

Basically circuit breakers / fuses protect the cable. So find out what size the cable is to the shed. There are simple tables for cct breaker size to cable size. Ignore the part about the length, that is for selecting the size of the cable you need in the first place.

    Edit: Wot he said above.

Ah melamine...drilling old switchboards bring back memories.
Get a Registered Sparkie to do it so they don't have to quit the industry and work for Corporates like me.
You get a proper job and COC too.
Or get that old Post Office workshops bloke from Wanganui to do it.
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.

looking inside the melamine box... Big.
    Defnitly big.
To my untrained eye, id run 30a with no drop. Looks slightly smaller than demarc/kwh meter cabling. But this shits probably 60 years old... So..?
    That suggests running new cableh?

    house:
    demarc -> fuse panel ->meter ->??

The treble breaker in the box says
    63a 240/415v its a 3 gang.
Is that 63a at 415? (acros 3 phases?) or 63a/phase?
Old wire in the roof is 7x ~2mm conductors...
