The bandit is now sporting a new set of Pilot Power 3's and due to play on the carriers in the front right rotor she'll be getting new front rotors asap also. Any tips for lifting the front of a bike if you don't have a paddock stand? cant figure out a non dodgy way to do it with a car jack/jacks. Id rather swap the rotors my self and save an hours labour if possible.

Get a couple mates to help so you don't drop it. Use a couple tie downs from the triple trees to the rafters on the garage to support it. Although a better thing to use is those chains with ratchets... Harder to come by, but my dad uses them for work.

Thats sounds like it would work a treat. However, i live in a modern house with no rafters in the garage

Pilot Roads are the best tyres I've used for a big Bandit.

If you are planning on doing a bit of work on the bike, these are not that expensive.

I've used a concrete block with a piece of wood on top in the past. Got the wife to push it under the bike while I lifted it. (Lift from the rear so that the forks don't wobble about while you hold it.) To get it off I reversed it - I lifted, she dragged out the block and the wood.

I've also lifted bikes using tie-downs from the rafters - but that won't work if you haven't got rafters.

I have a headstock stand, worth it in the long run if you are going to do your own work.

Got the rotors lightly used from Gary Pendleton at GP Motorcycle Wreckers. He seems a good bugger. got them for $250 compared to $300 each for a new set.

Got the Pillion Foot Pegs and brackets from Action Bike Wreckers. Pulled them apart. Sanded and painted them. Then re greased all the moving parts. However to fit these I'm going to need to make a new hanger bracket for the Dan Moto can to drop it 20mm as the pegs aren't clearing it.

Got the bar ends off Trademe. Just cheap ones ($43 incl post). They seem to be of a good enough quality however and weren't difficult to fit. I used a bit of insulation tape to make them grip the interior of the handle bar a bit better and now they're sweet.

Cant wait to get the rotors on so I can scrub the new tires in properly.

And whats 'WRONG' with setting off a few car alarms with a decent set of pipes? If they set the fuggin things THAT sensitive!

Exactly, The owner of the car should be glad that I am checking his alarm for faults on a daily basis.
