One thing that is quite fun...
When the home phone rings and I completely ignore it when with someone. You can physically see them squirming and beginning to slobber like Pavlov's dog when they finally say "aren't you going to answer that?".

People have the mind-set that they must become a slave to their phone.

Very well said I do the same and if I'm busy or eating tea, I don't answer the phone. My wonderful wife doesn't spend much time on the phone but if our land phone rings, she drops whatever she's doing to answer it, even if we have friends or family round. It really pisses me off because that's why we have call-minding service, for god's sake . Pavolv is the right description. Mind you, pre-retirement, I was a slave to the effing mobile phone so that's why it's not going to stuff up my retirement years

Exactly...phones can wreck the ability to fully enjoy and engage with others. But then I like the fact that turning them off can cause such chaos and mayhem more than farking rainbows and unicorns.
