    The ITM semis

Just watched a marvellous semi final between Taranaki and Auckland. One of the more enthralling games of the competition. The Mako's have done the Cantabs. Should be a great final next week. Might even ride down to watch it.

Been a great competition all round this year, in fact Rugger in general has been bloody good for the last couple of years I reckon.

The AB's just scrapped in. I thought the Wallibies actually played better.

If it was a boxing match that went the distance the Wallabies would have won by a small margin. Thank God for that knockout punch we landed after the hooter.

If I ride too long in a particular position I dismount to find I have a 'numb on'. Trouble is I haven't figured out what that position is.

Is there domestic rugby being played?

Kind of a bit pointless when the AB's are playing and the competition is horribly skewed by the best players not actually playing for their province I would have thought.

It has been a great competition with some spectacular footy, and some real stars coming out of the woodwork.

Reading this morning that Colin Slade may still miss out on the northern tour, yet they will find a place for Money Bill Williams. I'll be gutted if that happens.

It's proper local rivalries that make or break a comp. It's the reason the AFL and NRL are successful and the reason Super How-many-are-we-up-to-now? is a bag'o'shite.

    Yep, Go Makos

I was amazed that Slade was on the pitch and Cruden was carrying the waterbottles myself. If Carter's fit to go then I can find no justification for Slade's continued inclusion in the squad. I'm still firmly in the camp that reckons including players for their marketing value is a dumb idea, Williams isn't a good enough Union player, end of story.

Cruden should have been on the bench, Slade is a good 'back up' and is probably a 4th or 5th choice player, but at least he plays the game because in his heart he wants to be there.

Sorry, but SBW should be there, he is a top class footballer IMHO. Mind you that Fijian centre/2nd five from Taranaki looks pretty bloody good. Hansen must have noticed.

Nah, he's a big unit with the one offload trick, there are plenty of better real rugby player options. You can't take an inside centre with no kicking game to a World Cup.
