Can't move for extra ports. Watercooling is always more consistant tempurature wise, which means you can run closer to the edge with tolerances, compression, jetting & ignition. That's why everything modern is watercooled, mx bikes etc all went water in '81.

Buckets I've watercooled have always been consistent with their performance - fast at the start of the race and fast at the end. Ask anyone who has done it though and they will all tell you the same thing - creating/building/fitting a waterpump is one hell of a job. I made my last one from scratch and it was a mission and was changed heaps before it worked real well. You can do a thermo-siphon job on an MB though as the barrel is nicely sloped forward. I did an AC50 like that years ago and it worked real well and was so simple.

I did it myself bar the welding (& some milling to speed things up). Problem was the guy welding it made a hash job & stuffed it all. To make it - worse it was a brand new barrel, never had a piston in it that I scored for $70. That made me sick & hence the prolapsed state of the bike.

I decided to graft on an NSR waterpump running at the normal gearing & direction so it should be just peachy, maybe even too good, but you can lessen efficiency & drag by spacing the cover out with some gasket.

And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.
