    DT175 shock upgrade

    Hey All

My beast is a 1980 DT175 mono shock

Has anyone out there replaced their rear shock in the past?

I'm looking for a replacement shock from something later model if possible, preferably with an increase in ride height / travel.

    Thanks!

To be honest there will nothing that will bolt in that doesn't require work an early IT175 may fit , u will need the swingarm etc , easiest fix bolt the motor in said rolling frame.
Trying to get a classic bike up and running will/can be expensive, my own 1984 KTM while running has needed parts most have had to come from Austria to date $1500 and could double that in a second if I choose to.

Your gonna have to do some research but me good old Dad had a DT 175 mono which fitted my 6'2" stature. I know it had DT 125R forks & the rear end was raised. Pretty sure the shock mountings had been moved rather than the shock replaced. I'm sure the info will be on a DT forum. I will ask me Dad next time we talk.
Oh, to date, it is the best trail bike I have ever ridden. I loved it.
