Lap times don't lie though ,Feedback is a relative thing, I don't think Gardner was to good at it either, Judging by what everyone said Sheene was shit and so was Kokinski , Doohan obviously was great but he too was initially fooled by the big bang and thought the original motor felt faster even though the lap times were the same in back to back testing (But the tires wore less so faster in a race overall or a softer compound could be run)
The big bang Doohan said steered better as the Balance shaft fixed the gyro the single crank NSR had. (not a problem in all the other twin crank set ups)
When Suzuki did their version even though the lap times were faster, He still wanted to run the screamer set up. But kevin was a racer I think more interested in winning a race against someone than winning a title.
The thing Burgess always mentioned about Mick in interviews was how hard and fast Mick rode during testing.

Lap times don't lie.. but crew chiefs might..

Barry Ditchburn was having poor form/low confidence.. Shenton told him he was going a couple of secs quicker than he was..
Barry figured, hey this aint so tough, then went out & did achieve those times..

Interesting rumour about KTM talking to Dani Pedrosa to ride their new bike. Be an ideal move for Dani, his old crew chief Mike Leitner is involved heavily in the new venture.

I thought KTM weren't getting involved with a factory team. Last I heard they were saying they'd just sell machinery to approved privateers...

Are you high? Any rider who walks away from a factory Honda or Yamaha, is fucken brain dead. There simply isn't a manufacturer with the goods to compete outside of those two.

But Danni's contract will be finished with HRC by time they are ready to be on track, hence Millers contract 3 years. They want more young blood

As demonstrated where? They have the fastest rider in the paddock on one bike, and the most consistent points scorer on the other. Fuck all will change on that team untill someone's performance turns to shit.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway MotoGP round to be replaced by race at Austria's Red Bull Ring in 2016; COTA in Texas now the only MotoGP round in US…

Never been a fan of Indy,so no worries there .

It's not going to be his choice. Pedrosa was going to be replaced by Marquez a couple of years ago, it's only due to the fact that Stoner quit that he kept his job. Honda will still be looking to sign the right guy - whoever it is.

So Yamaha fitted winglets to Lorenzo's bike last night in FP2. They had tested these at Aragon apparently.

Nick Harris announces that the winglets won't make much difference to the lap time.
The pit lane guy butts in and says that Lorenzo has changed to a new medium tyre, he'd been using hard.
And suddenly it's a new lap record.

Harris says, "What do I know?"
    Indeed Nick, indeed.

Maybe we should have persisted with them at Teretonga in 1988... We wanted to keep the front of the GSXR1100 down over the bumps past the line as it wound up to around 180mph plus (calculated off revs and gearing - confirmed later at a flying 1/4)
Officails were looking sideways at them though so off they came. Still regret that.

Oh boy, JL is looking dangerous - but MM is breathing down his neck, wonder if he can keep that up all race long and stay rubberside down.
VR should pick up the pace today.
Amazing what a podium finish will do for confidence, Petrucci is looking pretty sharp. I hope he does really well. I like that guys attitude. His comment of “I was behind Pedrosa and Lorenzo. I've never seen that situation. Only on the Playstation!” was freaking hilarious
    Bring it on!

Barry Sheene had fairing mount winglets on his Suzuki G.P. 500 - back in the 70s..

V.R. would not use them on his Ducati.

Good on George for doing a bit of 'mind-game' type shit of his own..
