    Why did no one just suggest the Networking Wizard that WinXP has?
    Use that, following the points and should have you up and running in ten minutes.
    Then just use My Shared Docs for transferring.

    Sounds like there are issues, some of which need removing. Apart from actually physically coming around to sort it out, theres little I could do to help. Although I'd be worried about flying paint brushes hitting me...

    Took me about half a minute to sort out the 2 xp computers, however it took a tad longer for them to work with the other half's 98se and vice versa.
