AX100 detent location?

Anyone know how to get at the gear change detent on an 86ish AX100 (they must be different to the A100 as the directions I got don't work... )
I need to check the spring etc is all there.

I know this ain't a sportbike but where else can I put it? It's not a cruiser either

All I can tell you is that the A100 and AX100 are totally different engines. Not much help I know.
