Also once meant custom writing two reports in Access and using "Print to file" to create two editable files which I could marry and edit in Word to create a "reasonable facsimile" of a .GED file for a genealogy program so I could import it - because manually copying the data from the ancient database program it was in (any other Antediluvians here remember "PFS First Choice"?) was too bloody labour-intensive. I spent two "All-nighters" importing, reporting, editing, manipulating and checking the data to enable me to import over three thousand records at once (compared with the two days of typing it had taken to manually enter 125 records) To clarify: one all-nighter to export a csv file from First Choice, import to Access, generate and edit the files and import the resultant "GED" file into the genealogy program followed by a second all-nighter to manually marry the imported data to the records I had already entered (Yeah, OK, Ixion, it would have been "simpler" to have imported the whole lot into a fresh database but I was buggered I was going to render the work I had already done "obsolete" )

I am offically glad I dont use that any more, although I have to try write a C++ wrapper that will interact with a remote run PHP wrapper to CHANGE the frontend of the PHP wrapper and also supply full interactivity with the PHP content WITH security - going to be... fun fun fun...
