Does anyone know what the weather is going to like? Pissing down at the moment it'll be bloddy wet on the east coast of Coromandel if this keeps up.

Yeah, this is Foxy/Charlie the SSUPLR from your recruit course... ahhhhh, those were the days, all we had to think about was cleaning windows, floors, toilets, windows, surrounds, boots, clothes... and ironing... and running around - lots... life was good.

SO whos going?
STORMY WEATHER FOR PARTS OF THE NORTH ISLAND ON SUNDAY MetService forecasters expect a very deep low to cross of the North Island on Sunday, with the potential for a short burst of heavy rain and gales in many areas. However, the greatest risk of severe gales, lies in the north of the Island, specifically in Northland, Auckland, Coromandel Peninsula, Bay of Plenty and the East Cape area. In these areas, gusts to 120 km/h are possible from early Sunday morning through to Sunday night. These sort of winds have the potential to cause damage to trees, powerlines, lift roofs and to make driving conditions extremely hazardous. Meanwhile, the heaviest rain is expected in the Bay of Plenty, particularly about the eastern ranges, also the northern ranges of Gisborne and about Mt Taranaki. 100 to 140mm of rain could fall between the early hours of Sunday morning through to Sunday night. This is not exceptional for these areas, however short high intensity falls of 25mm per hour could cause some local surface flooding and people should also be on the alert for rapidly rising rivers and streams. Finally, the combination of exceptionally low pressures (falling to around 975 hectopascals), very strong onshore winds and abnormally high tides Sunday morning and evening may produce significant storm tides in some places, in particular, around the Hauraki Gulf, Firth of Thames, and the Bay of Plenty.
Weather was ok, roads were wet but fun even on adventure tyres. Managed to go all the way to Ohope and back to Alk and the only real heavy rain was the last 20k's on the motorway![]()
The road from Whangamata to Waihi is well worth doing too. Looking forward to doing that road again in the dry.
