    Ducati 748R - for sale

2001 Ducati 748R homologation race special. This rare and collectable race-based motorcycle would make a superb addition to someone's collection. Would suit a ducati enthusiast or a good home with someone looking for something that little bit special.

    748R #781
    Ohlins FG8500 R&T Forks
    Ohlins Full Adjustable rear shock
    5 spoke Marchesini Wheels
    320mm 748R brake discs
    Brembo P4 Corse R brakes
    Titanium Conrods

R Spec; heads, intakes, cams, followers
Corse R overhead F1 shower injector bodies
    Corse R Carbon fibre airbox
    Corse Fuel Eprom Chip
Termignoni Full System Titanium Carbon Exhaust – the rare 748R spec 45/50mm (This alone was in excess of $3k rrp new)
    STM Italia Clutch Slave Cylinder
    After market Rear sets
    Billet Counter shaft sprocket cover

MY02 748R Corse Carbon fairing set. Rare factory catalogue race part. Fairing components include:
    - Carbon Front guard
    - Carbon V-Panel
    - Carbon Top Fairings
    - Carbon Side panels
    - Carbon Bellypan
    - Carbon Chain guard
    - Carbon Swingarm guard
    - Carbon Clutch cover
    - Carbon Heel Guards
    - Carbon Exhaust Shields
    - Carbon Rear reg plate hanger

Good condition Michelin Pilot Power 2CT tires. Rear good, front fair.

At 19,000kms the bike received a full service including:
    - Top end shim & valve clearance set
    - Replaced all valve collets
    - Inspected all Cam and rocker faces
    - New 748R belts fitted and rollers inspected & reset
    - Fresh brake fluid
    - Oil & Filter
    - New coolant
    - New set of sintered front SBS brakepads

Bike has been enjoyed on NZ roads and has the odd mark and a few stone flicks onto top carbon fairing. As this is carbon under the black, its not overly noticeable from a distance and bike overall still a fine presentation for a such an impressive little bike.

    Video of bike: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7bZFPCF-5A

As it was up on the bike lifter for the winter we stripped down and sorted all linkages, regreased pivots and bearings and stripped and inspected front forks. Just had a fresh 1Yr warrant and has Reg till 28th Feb 2015.

Have only ridden another 3-4 times since and bike is ready to go to a good new owner. I’m sure that one day I’ll regret this sale, but change of circumstance forces change in direction. New owner can enjoy the ride or simply glass case it, enjoy looking at it and watch it appreciate.

Extra Ducati speciality tools and manuals can be included by negotiation.

You're more that welcome to come on over and try it out, you might find it addictive and want to take it back to Chch. It certainly sounds great & deep when opened up and held on song with the Termi's.
I like letting unloaded engines have an easy life, rather than give them a fistful sitting on the stand. Revs are better suited when loaded. Just my opinion
