You need to look at the whole weight of the power plant. Depending on how far you want to go using that 1000 hp, the battery can get heavy. Our record setting electric hydro was lighter and around 20 mph faster that the same hull with IC engine power. The full throttle range was around 3 kilometers, just enough to get a 2 pass average through the kilo course.
