    Headlight always blinding people

My headlight seems to be on high all the time.

Kind of like Bob Marley. High as a kite.

Ive taken it apart and had a wee fiddle but can't understand whats going on

Its a 3 pin headlight, Green, Yellow and Black.

    Black is earth

Green has power when one high

Yellow has power when on low.

But the brightness of the light doesn't increase/decrease when the button is pressed.

Ive searched on the internet but its hard to find exactly what i need.

My only thought is that the light only has one bulb inside. which may be the case.

But I'm no electrical whizz. Im just a man.

Any one able to help?! Ill buy you a box if you come around and help !

Need it for re-compliance 21 days to go.

    What bike is it?
Has someone had a tutu with the wiring and swapped the wiring so the low beam is powering the high beam filament?

"Seems" ... to be on high beam ... ??

Park it next to a wall and try the Full/Dip options ... you will(should) see a difference.

Who cares? I've got a French headlight on my bike, meaning it's designed for the right hand side of the road. Blinds everyone. Except me.

Until you go for a warrant and they ping you for it.
My VTR1000 had many warrants till they pinged me for the L shape being to the wrong side.
    Real easy fix tho
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

    Ditto.
Are those wire colors not the ones heading into back of bulb itself?

I had that. I investigated fixing it but it seemed like it would take longer and cost more than trying the next garage on the street.

Get a 12v sauce. Ground ground. Take a flying hot lead to each of the spare terminals. And see what happens.
You cn usually see 1vs2 filliaments...

Assume u are checking voltage at plug and ' Green has power when one
    high
    Yellow has power when on
    low.'?

is the pass button jammed on which often makes both beams go together?

Did all the right checks but couldn't figure it out.

Pulled the headlight off. Popped the headlight into the socket on my mates Suzuki Wagon.

    And it didn't work.

    New headlight was the go.

Bought a new headlight $21.10 from Bnt.

    Sorted.

What was weird is that when the hi/low switch was on either setting, the dash light always showed hi beam.

Almost ready for re check and re rego!

Got some resistors for the lighting fast indicators I've got. And a new tyre coming!

    Time for some beers.

    Cheers guys.
