Yes. They draw blood. If you are at risk they go with a digital exam.
Or if 2 or more are true you need to find a doctor you are comfortable with:
You don't pee as fast as you used to.
You sometimes are not finished when the stream stops or it take longer than a few seconds to achieve a good head of steam.
You ejaculate significantly faster than you used to without other lifestyle changes that might explain this.
You don't often have morning wood.
You sometimes can't hold it between pitstops.
These are typical symptoms of an enlarged prostate. Everyone over 40 will experience some enlargement but if you have more than a couple of symptoms you need to discuss with your GP. Especially important of you are under 40.
Most of these are also symptoms of diabetes and or kidney stones so no guarantee you will feel the gentle caress of a caring man yet but best you get it checked out.
Lifestyle choices that increase risk:
Cycling.
Inadequate exercise.
Drinking.
High calorie diet
Waist line over 92cm.
Regular dehydration.
Regular exposure to hypothermic conditions.
I am sure there are more risk
Factors and more symptoms but those are the highlights.

Technically drawing blood is a test for the presence of PSA and not examining the prostate per se. Some groups are now advising against the PSA test on the basis that the small benefits are outweighed by the potential harm.
Cheers for the other info....I now have another good excuse not to go cycling.....hmmmmm does it apply to exercise bikes in the gym too?![]()

It has to do with the harder sports seat most men use and jarring. Most modern seats have a cut out where the prostrate is.
Most exercycles have women's seats. Read that how you will.
