I have a quantum that I bought nearly 11 years ago now.
The section is jungle... The carburettor is stuffed me thinks, still fires into life but runs like
pussy scab...it sounds sick but still mows.

I have pulled the trigger on this...$875....a Massport 550AL commercial mower..
Plus bought a scrub-cutter 4 in 1...from Trade Tested..
If I do this properly I will have more time to get out in the weekends....
I hate spending money I don't have though, bugger it, has to be done!

Yes. I will be replacing my 20 year old one with a new Masport soon enough. The handle rusted and a wheel came loose a couple of weeks ago. The engine is fine!

Probably just a stretched governor spring on the old quantum, simple fix.

The little rotary hoe heads they make for the weedeaters these days are pretty good too, if you don't have a lot of area to do. Easy way to weed the gardens.

We did that on ours, finding the right point was hard, ended up being a screamer motor with the govner pegged with a cable tie. It refused to blow up much to the amusement of passersby everytiem we mowed the lawn....

Did that to an Ironhorse when I was doing my small motor time. Amazing how hard it revved and for how long for.

I'm pissed off. The rotary hoe from 1975 has clapped out. Poxy shit. Had to get welded up, but luckily it is back working again without having to get a new part...

Ha. Your shed looks like mine now. Virtually the same mower & scrub bar. Love the scrub bar, Skil saw blade on it & into the jungle. Goes through anything.
The mower burns oil if you run it on slopes to long. Keep an eye on it.

Me ride on has expired which is arse. Motor is sweet but I think the hydrostatic drive is kaput & it's not a fixable design. If anyone wants to make an offer on a 18.5hp Murray with a 3 blade 46" deck to push around their lawn let me know.
