    I don't think I've ever had a watch that survived long enough to need a new battery.

    that was the same for me till i got metal cased watches, now on to my third one but the other two still are going strong on my desk, and dont really take my watches off so they get a hammering

    i bought a really nice titanium Citizen Skyhawk with ecodrive off ebay 18 months ago. NZ$400 landed - $1300 as quoted at about 4 watch shops!

    no light, just really good luminesce, but it has quick check UTC and flight leg timing which is essential for accurate cross country flying. i love it.
