Kinky is using a feather. Perverted is using the whole chicken
Reasons to be cheerful? My grandaughters arrive tomorrow for Xmas and little Miss 9 years old is going to have her first proper ride (out of our street) on the back of Poppa's bike ... and she doesn't know it yet.
Grow older but never grow up

Reasons to be cheerful:
My new job is great. Shit from my old job will sort itself out one way or another, in time.
I love the trackday.
I get two weeks off in a few days where I dont HAVE to do ANYTHING except whatever the fuck I want... SWMBO is working except stat days so if i want to lie about in bed till midday I can, lie about and read I can, lie about and listen to music I can, lie about and take a nap I can.
Motorbike is going great and I intend to do a few day rides (not just Akaroa GP).
We are in a position this year to pay Christmas bonuses so I can make my workmates happy.
Yeah, life's good.

A puff piece. Are you serious? Did you read the report to compare the article's content? If there was any "puff" involved it was the fact that the article picked up on Clarke's negative narative, which wasn't part of the report at all.
The report, tainted by the UN's socialist agenda as it is, (this is the crowd that defines "poor" as those earning less than 60% of the national mean) is nonetheless seriously impressed with global performance:
As a matter of interest I've been checking on some independent sources of opinion about NZ quality of life:Over the past two decades, the world has made major strides in human development. Today, people are living longer, more children are going to school and more people have access to clean water and basic sanitation.
Since 1990, 2 billion people have been lifted out of low human development, extreme income poverty has been reduced by more than a billion. Every region of the world has seen Human Development Index (HDI) gains.

Which does include a fair bit of negative feedback. Mostly to do with the cost of shit:
A phenomena that's annoyed and puzzled most Kiwis for decades, but while there's no reason to be cheerful about the trade barriers that cause that it hardly compares to improvements for 2 billion actual poor over the last few years in that regard. The price gouging Kiwis are subjected to. Even taking in to consideration shipping costs and a smaller market, I still don’t feel that 3x the cost of the same item/brand compared to the US market is justifiable. Cosmetics, glasses, contact lenses solution, and books are the things that have most recently irked me.
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon
