    Well it'll solve a few problems....less prone to the effects of Tsunami, greater protection from nuclear fallout, you can kill whales from your balcony, but the view wont be that good as the sea around Japan is full of plastic & massive jelly fish & massive piles of stockpiled coal & timber...
    But the view will still be probably better than the mess above water.

    They will still buy their materials from them .I work in a prenail plant in Wellington and i can tell you that just about every house we do is large complex and unique.A more modest house built with a bit of thought and more standard components will make the cost a lot less than some of the monstrosities we build.I dont know how the builders actually build some of the houses that go across my desk
