    ZZR250 carb issue. Maybe?

Hello again guys, thanks for all your help and input in my last thread about my ZZR overheating.

I ended up sourcing a new engine because the bike never ran quite right after I put it back together; issues starting, impossible to idle without choke, totally dead acceleration.
I set aside today to install the engine I picked up on Thursday, low milage, good nic', 2 week warranty bla bla.
Low and behold exactly the same thing is happening?!

So Im fairly sure its not engine related, and there is definitely seems to be good spark, so Im pretty sure its carb related.
However, as this is my first bike and I don't have a manual Im not entirely sure I know what Im actually looking for..

    The issues are:
    Hard to start with/without choke
Won't run at all without choke
Will immediately die when you even go near the accelerator
Seems to be running quite hot, though Im not sure on that one

Has anyone got any wisdom as to what my next steps should be? At this stage Im going to train the carbs tomorrow and see if that makes any difference, then deconstruct and clean, then possibly take then in to a bike shop if all else fails.
The funny thing is all of this started happening post bike overheating, I can't see how the two are related however.

Yeah, teach them a few tricks while you are at it.

Yes yes apparently my spelling could do with some attention

It ended up being the carbs as the bike ran perfectly again after blowing them out with an air compressor.
    Second time thats happened.. -_-

That does mean the engine I rebuilt is probably actually perfectly fine so if anyone needs an zzr250 engine hit me up!

Clean your carbs and check for vac leaks.
Typical symptoms of blocked pilot jet

Thanks man, your've always got good advice.

As I said the issue has actually been fixed by blowing the carbs out with compressed air, will know for next time.

    Cheers,

ZZR 250's don't actually have fuel filters as far as I know? But would have been a valid thing to check if they did..

They're tiny gauze ones inside the tank.
Chances are the tank is a bit rusty or your fuel line is delaminating inside
